In celebration of the Library and Information Services (LIS) Month 2022 and National Book Week 2022, the Br. Fidelis Leddy Center for Learning Resources (CLR), in partnership with the Office of the Vice President for Lasallian Mission and Student Life (OVP-LMSL), invites you to join the Readathon: Make Your Own Reading List Challenge.
This contest is open to the Benildean Community (bonafide students and associates).
MECHANICS
1. Create a public recommended list of 2 or more titles of your favorite Filipiniana books (any fiction or nonfiction, text- or graphics-heavy work) in WorldCat Discovery by following the instructions at bit.ly/WCDreadinglist.
a. The selected books should be Filipiniana
"... about the Philippines, Filipinos, or Philippine culture, produced in or outside the Philippines, by Filipinos or non-Filipinos, in any of the Philippine languages or dialects or in a foreign language” (Medina, 1972, p. 6)
b. Create a title and a description or summary (maximum of 1000 characters) of your list.
c. For each title, create a note with your annotation or your review on why you are recommending the book to your readers.
d. Title, description, and annotations may be in English or Filipino language.
2. Send your list’s shareable link to clr@benilde.edu.ph, with the subject: My Recommended Reading List, on or before 18 November 2022, 12:00 nn.
3. Like our Facebook page (@BenildeCLR). All entries (title, summary, and shareable link) will be uploaded in the CLR page on 18 November 2022, 8:00 pm.
4. All entries will be judged using the following criteria:
(a) composition and grammar (40%);
(b) creativity (how engaging and persuasive your reviews are) (40%);
(c) audience impact - Facebook reactions (20%)
5. Invite your friends to vote for your entry by reacting to its corresponding poster. Online voting will start on 18 November 2022 and tallying of votes for audience impact ends at 5:00 pm on 23 November 2022.
6. Winners will be announced at the CLR Watch Party on 25 November 2022, 2:00 - 4:00 pm.
