2021
LRC, in partnership with the Philippine Eagle Foundation, raised awareness of our national bird through an advanced celebration of the Philippine Eagle Week 2021 on May 26-28, 2021.
The Learning Resource Center renames itself to Center for Learning Resources (CLR).
2020
Off-campus access to LRC's e-resources was made possible via RemoteXS.
LRC subscribed to Springshare, a reference services management platform, to revamp its reference and information services. The modules included in the subscription were LibAnswers (multi-channel communication), LibCal (online booking), and LibGuides (web publishing and content creation).
Reservation of learning spaces was automated via LibCal.
The second LRC orientation video featuring LaRCy and Auntie Polly was produced in partnership with ToonBro and SDA-Animation. The video discussed updates on new LRC learning spaces and the new LRC branch in Benilde Antipolo.
The Audio-Visual Services Unit commenced its live streaming services for College events.
LRC launched its website hosted in Springshare LibGuides.
Virtual reference services such as Chat with LaRCy and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Knowledge Base were introduced.
LRC upgraded its bibliographic services through LaRCy Guides -- comprehensive online subject/course guides that list down carefully-selected and evaluated resources available in the LRC collection.
LRC created its social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as a means to intensify library marketing efforts and augment virtual reference services delivery.
LRC strengthened its information literacy program by offering the following services: Request a Learning Session with LaRCy, Virtual User Education Training Sessions, Schedule an Appointment with LaRCy, and LaRCy's Pro Tips Video Tutorial Series.
LRC subscribed to video streaming databases: Artfilms-Digital and Academic Video Online (AVON).
LRC held its first advocacy event which was in celebration of the Library and Information Services Month and National Book Week. A series of learning events and fun contests were conducted via Zoom and LRC's social media pages on November 16-27, 2020.
2019
The Student Lounge located at the 10th floor of the AKIC Campus was renovated in response to the need of the students for a space to study, socialize, and relax during breaks.
LRC's first exhibit entitled, "LUMOS : LRC Upholding the Mission of Saint Benilde" ran from October 21 to 30, 2019 at the LRC Main Lobby.
2018
LRC shared resources with Benilde Antipolo.
2017
The Learning Commons in SDA was aesthetically redesigned in coordination with the Center for Campus Art. The facelift aimed to incorporate learning in the space and to encourage Benildeans to share their ideas freely and creatively.
2016
LRC upgraded to the next-gen integrated library system: WorldShare Management Services (WMS). WorldCat Discovery was introduced as a one-stop search portal for physical and online LRC resources.
Users can now renew their book loans online by logging into WorldCat Discovery.
First appearance of LaRCy, LRC's mascot, in the first animated orientation video produced in collaboration with ToonBro. The video was uploaded in LRC's newly-created YouTube channel.
2014
Digital versions of thousands of current newspaper titles from all over the world were made available for users through PressReader.
LED screens were installed in all classrooms.
2010
The Learning Commons in SDA was inaugurated.
2009
The Technical Services section of LRC transferred to SDA.
2007
The LRC branch at the School of Design and Arts (SDA) Campus opened.
eBooks from ebrary (renamed to ProQuest eBook Central) and Springer were offered for the first time.
The LRC-AKIC Readers' and Audio-Visual Services Sections transferred to the 10th floor.
2003
LRC Offices (Technical Services, Cataloging and Acquisitions Sections), including the Director’s Office, were inaugurated. The new offices were located in front of the Admissions Center.
LRC began circulating DVDs to users for in-campus use.
Subscription to Passport GMID (renamed to Euromonitor Passport) and seven GALE databases started.
2002
The Audio-Video Viewing Area was made available to the LRC users at the LRC-Main. The area could accommodate 16 people at one time.
2001
3M Electronic Security System was installed at the LRC-Main and LRC-Extension.
ProQuest Central became the first of the many online databases that LRC offers.
2000
The computerized circulation system started while the use of library cards ceased.
The LRC at the Angelo King International Center (AKIC) Campus opened. The Readers' Services Section and Audio-Visual Services Section were located at the 6th and 7th floor respectively.
1999
LRC-Extension, located at the ground floor of Solomon Hall, was opened to the community.
1998
Acquisition of the Follett Library Integrated System. One of the modules included was the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC).
1996
LRC moved to a bigger space at the 2nd floor of St. Mutien Hall. It was officially renamed as Br. Fidelis Leddy Learning Resource Center.
1988
The Learning Resource Center (LRC) started out as a small library consisting of a three-classroom set-up in Benilde Hall.
