Fashion Design and Merchandising

The Fashion Design and Merchandising Program takes a holistic approach in educating students by covering different sectors of Fashion from Haute Couture to Digital Retailing. It begins with the design process wherein the students learn Textile Design through traditional methods such as Handloom Weaving and Technological techniques such as Digital Printing. Students learn to produce their products from clothing to accessories by going through different clothing construction course wares. Lastly the students learn the Merchandising aspect that will allow their designs to be translated to a business by learning Entrepreneurship, Retail Management, Promotion and Brand Management.

This subject guide gathers in one place carefully evaluated and selected resources on fashion, design and merchandising available and accessible at the CLR and its subscribed databases. Books (both print and electronic) are categorized per course; while journals, online databases, and industry report are recommended for the entire Fashion and Design Merchandising program.
