Immersive and practical, AB Filmmaking is designed to to produce dynamic and versatile graduates with first-hand experience in the production of cinema and film media.

Graduates of AB Filmmaking will be exposed to every facet of the industry but, by their third year, will specialize in their chosen field; be it scriptwriting, cinematography, production management, postproduction, and documentary & non-fiction filmmaking.

The program utilizes various storytelling techniques from all over the world but with an emphasis in leading the students to telling Filipino stories to a global audience. To publics and external partners, the program is branded and recognized by the name BenildeFilm.

Upon completing the Filmmaking Program, the graduate should:

  • Create compelling stories using different narrative styles and devices to relate a series of events, for an audience through a cinematic medium.
  • Discuss milieu, style, and form in global and Filipino cinema, through exploration, criticism, and analysis, to contribute to the discourse of Filmmaking as cultural text.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage on one's own, and in collaboration with others, the various development and production tasks geared towards the realization of a common production goal.
  • Leverage on a variety of equipment, tools, and techniques to effectively and creatively execute the technical and aesthetic requirements of a cinematic project.
  • Channel one's imagination or original ideas in the creation of a whole or component of a cinematic work to develop projects that are innovative, insightful, and inspired.
  • Wield cinema’s innate socio-political power as vehicle for the promotion of equality, empowerment, and social good through films that explore, investigate, challenge, and reflect on the human condition.
